Otenti Systems ltd offers a fresh approach to the worldwide authentication need in the form of the Out-Of-Band authentication principle. Otenti’s solution manipulates information channels that surround everyone at all times, causing them to function as authentication channels (something you have). Cellular and line Phones, e-mails, SMS, MMS, Instant Messaging (MS-Messenger, ICQ, Google talk and Yahoo! messenger) and IVR are manipulated into being virtual devices at the authentication event, making it the strongest, cheapest and most applicable authentication method.

The basic authentication scenario of Otenti*Access works as follows:

• A person logs in to a service provider such as a bank, e-commerce site, insurance company, etc.
• The service provider sends authentication request to an Otenti*Access local based system on behalf of the person
  
• The person then receives special code in one or more of his virtual authentication devices, for example an SMS message in his cellular phone.
• This code is then submitted by the person as a password to the service provider
• The service provider addresses Otenti*Access again, to verify the code
• Based on this password the request is being authorized and the person gains access to the service.

Optionally, the authentication process can use more than one authentication channel in a single request, which makes Otenti’s method virtually unbeatable. The password in this case is split into several codes, which are sent separately to the user, each in a different channel, and only the combination of them all compose the needed password.
